Diseases in slums. (Stage 3)

Indian Express newspaper report-

"IIPS survey revealed that 89.6% of slum population die of respiratory diseases"

Urban population plays a crucial role in this. Even after being educated, urban population tends to ignore taking steps towards facilitating the slum population for everyone's betterment.
The government i.e, Municipal Corporation also fails to provide help to it's fullest. Urban population  must understand the mentality of the uneducated population and approach them for their betterment like better job opportunities, education and better living conditions. We on the other hand, ignore all this and cause them as well as the environment even more harm. Many situations caused by the urban population have led to respiratory diseases (cause of most deaths in slums).  Some of the major problems that are caused are-

1) Air pollution caused due to cars, factories, construction sites, etc.

2) Water pollution, unsafe drinking water supple and irregular water supply to these areas.

3) No medical facilities. Government clinics and hospitals are corrupted and ignorant.

4)Huge dumping grounds near the residence of the slum population.

5) Psychology of urban population towards slum population.

After considering all the above problems, the main focus of my research was choosen as "Dumping grounds near slum areas."
